Two Sizes Available
- The Rabbit Skin makes this a perfect tool to stimulate a scent line when training
- The weight and balance allows the ball to travel good distances on hard ground/down hills to create a rabbit scent line from the fall/seat of the rabbit.
- Can be used with dogs of all abilities and is a great training tool to encourage young dogs to take lines
- A great way to encourage dogs to retrieve if game or scent motivated
- Small approx. 4.1 " including rabbit skin. Approx. 290g in weight so the ball really does travel well and at a good speed when thrown!

Due to the weight and material, the ball bounces well on hard ground further increasing the level of marking importance but also creating a better scent line with the rabbit skin. The Ball also sinks deep into thick grass, making marking so much more important

How To Use
Roll or throw the ball on hard ground or downhill to create a scent line before sending your dog. For young dogs, start with short, visible rolls on open ground. Progress to longer distances and cover as ability develops. Always supervise use — this is a training tool, not a toy. Allow to dry fully after use. Not designed for prolonged water work.
Care Guide
Allow to dry naturally after every session. Avoid prolonged or repeated water use, particularly salt water. As a natural rabbit skin product, some wear will occur with regular training use — this is normal. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not leave unsupervised with dogs between sessions.

Q: What's the difference between the Scent Ball and the Marking Ball?
A: They train different skills. The Scent Ball is heavier and designed to roll along the ground, creating a scent line that your dog follows — replicating a running rabbit. The Marking Ball is lighter with a rope, designed to be thrown for distance to develop marking ability. Serious handlers use both.
Q: Is this suitable for puppies and young dogs?
A: Yes — unlike the Marking Ball which is for experienced dogs, the Scent Ball is suitable for all abilities and is an excellent introduction to scent line work for young dogs. Start with short, visible rolls on open ground.
Q: Why is it so heavy?
A: The weight is intentional. It allows the ball to travel at speed on hard ground and downhill, creating a longer and more realistic scent line. It also teaches dogs to carry heavier objects — an important part of progressive training development.
Q: Does it float?
A: It is not designed for water work. The weight means it will sink, and prolonged water use will damage the natural rabbit skin. For water retrieves, use a canvas dummy.
Q: Is this a toy?
A: No — this is a training tool designed for supervised use in structured training sessions only. It must not be left with dogs unsupervised. Incorrect use as a toy will damage the product and is not covered by any warranty.
